Who we are
The Cyber Security Hub is an information service run by the Department for Education.
The Department for Education is responsible for the information collected through this service.
What information we collect on this website
You can use this website to read guidance and information without telling us who you are. We do not ask you to create an account or enter personal details to use this site.
When you browse the site we may collect standard technical information so that the service can work. This can include your internet protocol address, the pages you visit, and information about your device and browser. This information is used to keep the service secure and to help us understand how the site is used.
Feedback and contact
If you choose to give feedback about the service you may be taken to a Qualtrics online survey form. The feedback form is optional and separate from the main website.
In the feedback form you can choose to provide:
- your feedback about the service
- an email address if you would like a reply
You do not have to give your email address. If you do give an email address we will only use it to respond to your feedback or questions.
The feedback form is provided using Microsoft online services. Information you enter in the form is stored on Microsoft systems under a contract with the Department for Education. The Department for Education remains responsible for how that information is used.
How we use your information
We use information from this website and from the feedback form to:
- provide and improve the Cyber Security Hub service
- understand how the service is used
- keep the service secure
- respond to questions and feedback where you ask us to contact you

Legal basis
The Department for Education uses information from this service as part of its public task to support schools and other educational settings with cyber security.

How long we keep information
We keep feedback and any contact details you provide only for as long as we need them to respond and to improve the service. After this we delete or anonymise the information in line with Department for Education policies.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. These include the right to ask for a copy of your information and to ask us to correct or delete it in some circumstances.
